Bag It Forward School Donation

It’s that time of year again! Yes, back to school time…. I think that maybe the stores started a bit early but right now is the best time to get some great deals on all the things that your kids will need for a successful school year! Even I like going back to school shopping because I love getting new paper… pens… stationary…. all of it really and each year it seems that they come out with some new stuff that is really great! It makes me wonder how I got by with just a plain old yellow pencil!

Elmer'e Extreme Glue

Every year when the kids go back to school the teachers always send home “wish lists” with all the supplies that they need for the classroom. Some of the things are every day items that they really need… like pencils & paper! So often I’ve seen the teachers at the stores filling their carts full of school supplies and paying with them with their own money.

Elmer's School Glue

Well, I went to Walmart and I participated in the Bag It Forward movement. I filled my cart with all the supplies that I knew the kids would need in the classroom this year! Crayons, paper, pencils, tissues, glue, and even hand sanitizer!

My donation

When I was there at the front of the store was huge Elmer’s display and a QR code the 1st Day app! The Elmer’s 1st Day™ app is a FREE mobile app that enables parents to capture those priceless “1st day” moments year after year. It also provides teachers a unique platform to share photos of their classrooms, school projects and more with family and friends.

1st Day App Sign

You can watch a video about the 1st Day app and download it here and best of all it works on both the iPhone and Android.

1st Day App

Helping out was really inexpensive too… I didn’t spend more than $30 and I know that the teachers are going to love our donation this fall when we bring in on the first day of school.

Elmer’s is committed to the education of children and innovation for educators who inspire them to learn. With that in mind, the company is a proud sponsor of The Kids In Need Foundation and currently supports the Elmer’s Teacher Tool Kit Program to provide much-needed funding and supplied to educators. I love that you did this! And buying all that tissue was SUCH a good idea. I know they always run out mid-winter!

    Very cool!!

Meijer has a big sale on all the back to school supplies this week, so Jdaddy is going to take Buddy up there tonight to get a few things. We don’t have our official supply list yet, even though school starts in less than 2 weeks for us!

Such an awesome mission, great job!

Teachers will be thrilled with your donation items, they will make such a difference. Tissues and antibacterial gel are both so thoughtful (and necessary)!

That’s awesome! They’ll put it to good use I’m sure.

I just got the list for my twins in the mail. It’s shockingly long considering they’re in preschool, LOL.

As a teacher, I say THANK YOU! It really is a shame that not only do we not get paid enough to do what we do, but we also have to buy supplies for our job…the only profession who does (unless you’re an independent or an artist).

It’s something I’ve never understood… why teachers get paid so little AND have to supply everything!

That is such a fantastic thing for you to do for your kids school.
I have a few friends that are teachers and they tell me all the time how much they spend on supplies for their classroom because they are not given enough of a budget and there are just too many children who don’t have the supplies they need because their families cannot afford to get them.
Our community is running a “Stuff the Bus” campaign right now to help the needy children in the area with just these supplies.
Thank you to Elmers for being such a wonderful supporter!! That has been and will be my brand of glue FOREVER!
